WORKING VISIT TO TAKORADI AIRFORCE BASE
Minister for Aviation, Hon Joseph Kofi Adda paid a day working visit to the Central and Western Regions to ascertain the potentials the two regions have in the aviation space, Hon Adda indicated that the Takoradi Airport was so important because it serves the oil and gas industry as well as the mining industry.
He further stated that the Ministry was in consultation with the Ministry of Finance to raise funds to support in the expansion of the Arrival and Departure Halls and also to see how best local air travel fares could be affordable to enable more Ghanaians to use.
He also hinted that many more airlines have shown interest and would soon start operations once the expansion work was completed; this in turn would bring competition and in the end would help reduce airfares.
According to him, though the renovation works done at the Takoradi Airport was solely funded by the Ghana Air Force and the Ministry of Aviation has pledged its unflinching support to assist the Airport to get the required gadgets for the civil works and other equipment to enhance efficiency in the operations of the Airport.
